THE PROGRAM

The counseling program in our school is available to help students, parents, and teachers develop positive learning experiences. The program consists of a variety of services and activities, including individual and group counseling, parents and teaching consultation, group guidance, informational services, referral assistance to other agencies in the community, and student assessment.

The school counselors are responsible for developing, scheduling, and evaluating program services and are assisted by the counseling advisory committee and the school principal. The primary services of the school counselor provide direct assistance to students in the school. For this reason, a major portion of the counselor's day consists of responsive services that help students with their academic, personal, and social development. Parent and teacher consultations with the counselor usually occur in the early morning before classes or during after-school hours.

The counselor is a licensed professional with training in human development learning theory, counseling and consulting tests and measurements, career development, educational and related research, and other areas appropriate to the practice of counseling in a school.

When I'm not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, & friends, reading, watching quality movies, exploring new places/traveling, and trying new places to eat.

Please don't hesitate to ask. You can contact me at whittle.emily@battlegroundps.org - I'll do my best to get back to you within 1-2 business days.

If you're a student, talk to your teacher, email me, refer yourself (on this website), or swing by my office during your lunch. I'll be happy to help!
